One of my frizzled roosters, “Lacey Louie,” tried very hard today to get one of his hens to lay in her nesting bowl. She looked like she wanted to lay and I guess Louie thought he could help out by demonstrating the proper technique. He got in the nesting bowl and tried to fluff up the coir mat, all the while calling her over.
I have seen several of my roosters try this same thing before. It's always a hoot to watch as they “show” their girls how the whole laying process is supposed to go. But as you can see from the video below, she doesn't take him up on his offer and walks out of the coop. The funniest part of this whole scenario is that this is an experienced hen, while Lacey Louie is a “first time” Dad “wanna-be”!
Too cute! Would love to get one!
you know seramas have wonderful personalities! and my dad just loves them! we use to have a male who wasn’t ready to breed yet and we got him a female serama and when he first layed on eyes on her he was literally shaking while walking towards her!
