I am certainly no expert on this subject, but a lot of people have been asking for information regarding Serama genetics. Aside from searching online and in various forums, one of the best books I have come across is this one, “The Serama Colours”, by Sigrid van Dort. It is available here at SCNA via Jerry Shexnayder. It has lots of pictures, and lots of details regarding colors in the serama as a breed. Breeding seramas, as such, is no big deal, but breeding to a color standard is a whole other 'can o' worms'! If you are serious about breeding blues or whites or chocolates or barred, or whatever, I strongly recommend you check this book out!
Here's what it looks like…
Also, joining the SCNA will also put you into contact with a lot of people far more knowledgable than I, with a lot more experience under their belts! The more information you have, the better decisions you can make!
there is another book that he did thet i picked up at the ohio show about the breed and how they came into this contry it is very good it was on the raffle table at the show
do you know were I can get a copy of this book?
